USC Facing Quarterback Shortage
USC reserve quarterback Matt Fink broke three ribs against Utah on Saturday and starter JT Daniels is undergoing concussion protocol this week.
That means No. 3 QB Jack Sears is the only healthy scholarship quarterback. However, Danels has not been ruled out and could start Saturday against Arizona State.
At this point, some fans would probably like Daniels to take a week off. He has been off target, displayed happy feet and clearly does not like to get hit in games.
All those factors mean a week off might not be so bad, especially when the season seems to be falling apart. But the schedule is easy and the Trojans can still win the Pac-12 South.
“Any failures that we have as a team, I always put on me. Always,” USC coach Clay Helton said.
