A Small USC Coaching Change But What a Backstory!
Clay Helton said tonight that USC graduate assistant Mike Goff, an NFL veteran offensive lineman, would become the interim 10th coach and help out with the offensive line.
A good move but man is there a backstory here.
Goff already helped coach the offensive line in previous years at USC. But sources said he was so frustrated with Neil Callaway’s tactics that he asked to help out the defensive line.
It says something when an NFL offensive lineman wants to coach on the defensive side of the ball. Namely, how sideways a program Helton runs at times.
Now, at least, Goff is where he belongs.
