Sideline Blow Up At UCLA Game
There was an ugly sideline incident that USC players were talking about in the first half and illustrates how little discipline exists in the Clay Helton era.
You probably saw defensive tackle Brandon Pili throw a punch at a UCLA player’s head and get a penalty. According to several players, when Pili returned to the sideline, a USC defensive coach told him that he cannot throw punches.
Pili reportedly told the coach, “Get away from me or I will knock you out.”
This is hardly unique with Helton’s team. I previously reported how players yelled at a staffer to get away from them when she told them to cheer on the sideline during the Utah game.
It is a players’ program under Helton. No one fears being punished for anything. So everyone does whatever they want.
