USC flips former Washington State DT commit
The USC coaching staff made the defensive line a huge priority in 2019 but everything fell short of expectations. Because USC missed on all their top priorities, they found room for a prospect from Pittsburg, Calif. who was committed to Washington State to play DT.
That prospect would be Dejon Benton. While he’s a bit undersized at 6-foot-2 and 260-pounds, he fills a need for the Trojans. That need would be competent defensive linemen.
So the USC coaching staff offered him a scholarship the morning of signing day and flipped him from the Cougars. He gives the Trojans their third defensive linemen in the class.
