After the floor fell out from under the USC recruiting class, the Trojan coaches started to scramble and eventually offered a scholarship to Riverside College defensive lineman Nick Figueroa.

While USC wasn’t going to get any of the defensive linemen they preferred to get at first, it was worth it to compete for the 6-foot-5, 280-pounder in this class. Figueroa held scholarship offers from schools like Nebraska, Oregon, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, plus many others, not to mention one of USC’s biggest rivals in UCLA.

On December 19, he announced his intentions to sign with the Trojans at a press conference held at Riverside College.

Figueroa is a big addition for USC considering the lack of defensive linemen in this class. He and Drake Jackson are the only two commits USC has at those two positions.
