325-pound DT Paama: Nansen blows up my phone but I'm cancelling my visit
Sama Paama is a 6-foot-5, 325-pound senior defensive tackle from Kaimuki HS in Honolulu. He’s committed to Washington and has been since April 8. He made that pledge just two months after USC extended a scholarship offer and Washington only came with a scholarship offer one week before the Trojans did.
All of that makes it seem like Paama picked Washington over USC straight up. But USC continues to push hard for him anyway.
“Yeah they are,” Paama said when asked if USC is still pushing hard for him. “(Nansen) just blows up my phone you know.”
He’s intrigued enough by the school that he watched the Trojans play UNLV.
“I watched them, they did good against UNLV. They have a lot of young people there. They’re good and they looked good as always.”
At one point, even after his pledge to the Huskies, Paama was set on taking an official visit to USC. He says that’s no longer the case.
“I decided not to take my visits,” Paama said. “As of right now, I’m done. UDub is my pick.”
He also says he wants to sign in December. His official visit to Washington is scheduled for December 14.
