Latu: USC's slow start doesn't affect me at all
Universally recognized four-star outside linebacker Laiatu Latu picked up a scholarship offer from USC back in January. Since that time, the Trojans have been a part of every top list Latu has released.
The latest top list came at the end of August. Latu placed USC in his top five, along with Cal, UCLA, Oregon and Washington.
The product of Jesuit HS in Carmichael, Calif. has been busy since releasing that list. While it came out long after his official visit to USC, he took an official visit to UCLA shortly after announcing his favorites. He’s also scheduled for an official visit to Oregon this weekend.
The college football season has also gotten underway since that list was announced. While Cal, Oregon and Washington have started a combined 8-1, the two schools in Los Angeles are struggling mightily. UCLA has started the season 0-3 and USC has started 1-2.
USC247.com caught up with Latu and asked him if USC’s start impacts his feelings on the school. He dismissed any idea of that.
“Never,” Latu said. “The slow start did not affect me at all.”
That loyalty is a mutual feeling between Latu and USC. The Trojan coaching staff regularly sends him edits on Twitter, including one yesterday evening. Latu tweeted it out and his current profile picture is a snapshot of him in a USC jersey from his June visit.
