Tuesday Whispers: Another Sign Of The Madness
A good thing to ask yourself when you read this or other USC stories is “does this happen at other schools too?”
Because USC seems to resemble a circus right now and doesn’t operate like a normal football program.
Just look at how USC is handing out scholarship offers like candy to lightly recruited prospects.
“I couldn't even figure out who the hell we were gonna go after late,” a USC coach told me this week. “It was a mad scramble with recruiting. We had a Plan D, E and F.”
If that’s not enough, I heard Clay Helton spent a good part of a day last week tending to his own financial affairs. Nothing wrong with that but shouldn’t it happen after Signing Day?
Ed Orgeron was at Mater Dei High School last week. Was Helton visiting any big-time schools?
Are you getting frustrated? You should be.
