Wednesday Whispers: Can Clay Helton Turn It Around?
Clay Helton had some laughable comments in his soft interview on USCTrojans.com.
Here is one quote: "During spring ball, we not only will continue to develop our players—a process that started with our January workouts--but we will focus on our attention to detail when it comes to fundamentals and technique, penalties and turnovers.”
I’ve heard some players have skipped workouts. I also reported on this website that Bru McCoy said players were going through the motions and not working hard during workouts.
Does that jibe with Helton’s comment above?
How hard were the receivers who transferred out working in January when they could not wait to get out of USC?
And when does Helton ever develop players?
It is great Helton aspires to be address fundamentals, technique, penalties and turnovers.
But what in Helton’s past background demonstrates USC might improve or develop?
