Thursday Whispers: Will A Nation's Top Recruit Flip To USC?
Some of the USC football recruiting sites have written stories that Mater Dei’s Elias Ricks, the nation’s No. 1-ranked cornerback, might consider switching his commitment from LSU to USC.
It makes sense because Ricks’ mother went to USC and he grew up a Trojans’ fan like all Mater Dei players. If USC had not struggled last season, some think he might have committed to USC.
So I looked into Ricks’ situation. Anything is possible with recruits, after all.
One thing I found did sound good for LSU, however.
I’ve heard Ricks’ parents plan to move to Baton Rouge.
Ricks is not going to reclassify, so the soonest he could graduate in is December. But that is about seven months away so it makes sense his parents would talk about a move.
The bottom line is USC still wants Ricks and LSU still thinks it will get Ricks. Stay tuned.
