Tuesday Whispers: Recruiting Takes A Step Forward

Tuesday Whispers: Recruiting Takes A Step Forward

USC is going to get a commitment tomorrow from Jack Yary, the son of former USC All-American offensive tackle Ron Yary.

Even though it was easy to secure a commitment from Yary, who always wanted to go to USC, the Trojans need some good news on the recruiting front. USC is currently ranked No. 60 nationally in recruiting by 247.

Jack Yary is a three-star tight end at Murrieta Mesa.

It will be welcome news for more than Clay Helton. Sources said the recruiting dept. has had a lot of turmoil in recent months. Alex Rios and Eric Ziskin departed and other staffers felt they left because Helton favored Gavin Morris, who holds the lofty titles of assistant athletic director/player development.

Rios is now at UNLV while Ziskin is currently seeking employment. But it did not go down well with other staffers that they got passed over by Helton whether it was for raises or promotions.
