USC could miss on 15 West Coast guards and tackles from the 2020 class

Before you get too excited about the fact that USC has a bunch of offensive line commits, USC247.com would like to introduce you to 15 other guards and tackles. These are prospects from the West Coast who hold USC offers and are ranked higher than anyone the Trojans have committed at their position. Four of these prospects have already publicly eliminated USC from contention and not a single player on this list is trending USC’s way.

Why is this important? It shows how ineffective USC coaches have been at recruiting the offensive line. This has been a problem for a few years but it’s especially telling in the 2020 class.

The Trojan coaches identified 15 other guards and tackles on the West Coast who they wanted on the roster. Going 0-for-15 on this list is very possible, so it seems like the solution was to reach even further and build an entire offensive line class around projects. That’s a recipe for disaster, especially with this coaching staff. They aren’t known for developing talent at all. If USC can’t develop a four-star lineman, what are they going to do with a group that isn’t even ranked at their positions by an entire recruiting network?

Without further ado, here are the 15 West Coast guards and tackles who hold scholarship offers from USC and are ranked higher than the guards and tackles the Trojans have committed:
